Cap Face Shape Guide: How to Choose the Right Cap

TL;DR: Match crown height and brim curve to your face, then pick the silhouette. Structured baseball or trucker adds height; low-profile washed stays soft and close. KRWN DISTRICT caps are One Size (about 54–60 cm) with an adjustable closure — start with the Baseball Cap Cream.

Shop by silhouette: the structured Baseball Cap Cream, the Trucker Cap Cream or the low-profile The Culture Two-Tone.

What is a cap face-shape match?

A face-shape match is geometry. Crown height, brim curve and depth change how long or wide your face reads. Fix those three before colour. Balance in the mirror beats a trend name.

Crown height vs face length

A taller structured crown adds vertical line for round faces and can overload a long face. A low unstructured crown follows the skull and keeps length calm. Buckram is only on structured fronts: Rule the District '26 and The Code, not The Culture.

Brim curve vs face width

A gently curved brim softens round or square outlines. A flatter brim adds a horizontal line that shortens a long face. Curve a flat brim slowly by hand; one hard bend leaves a kink. Curve matters more than extreme brim width day to day.

The variants

Three silhouettes cover our line: structured six-panel baseball, structured trucker with mesh, and unstructured low-profile washed twill. All are One Size with an adjustable closure; The Culture uses a strap with a brass slide buckle. Shape before colour.

Structured six-panel baseball

Clean front, defined crown. Easy on oval faces; useful height for round ones. Baseball Cap Cream is 100% cotton canvas. The Code Stone and The Code Washed Black (stone-washed black) share that structured canvas build with tonal “NOT FOR EVERYONE.” embroidery.

Structured trucker

Canvas front, mesh back, typically taller crown. Good for round faces and warm days. The Trucker Cap Cream pairs a cotton canvas front with a mesh back, One Size like the baseball.

Unstructured low-profile

Sits closer without buckram. Suits smaller faces, heart shapes and a softer vintage line. The Culture Two-Tone 6-Panel pairs cream crown with washed indigo visor; The Culture Washed Black 5-Panel is the darker low-profile option.

How to use this guide

Name the face shape, then pick structure before colour. Outline once in a mirror. Measure circumference only if the band feels unclear (most adults sit in 54–60 cm). Then open the all-caps collection and filter by silhouette.

Mirror outline in 30 seconds

Hair back, close to the mirror, soap outline, step back. Similar length and width: round or square. Length dominates: long. Forehead leads: heart. Nothing dominates: oval. Keep the sketch.

Fit check before you buy

Set the closure so the sweatband is flat and the brim sits about a finger above the brows. The cap should stay on a light head shake without a deep mark. Adjust the band before you judge the face match.

What to watch when buying

Structure and depth before colour. Confirm the adjustable closure, canvas or washed twill as claimed, and stitched embroidery rather than a heat-press print. On The Code, the KD monogram under the brim is printed by design.

Structure, depth and closure

Structured means buckram behind the front; unstructured means a soft crown. Depth decides perch versus hug. Our closure is always adjustable (snap band, or a strap with slide buckle), not a fitted size run. One Size covers typical adult heads when the closure is set right.

Colour and embroidery scale

Cream and stone read brighter; washed black is a stone-washed black with tonal variation. Large front marks need a structured panel. Smaller faces often prefer quieter marks and a low crown. That is The Culture territory.

Care

All KRWN DISTRICT caps: spot clean only with a damp cloth and mild soap, reshape by hand, air dry. Never machine wash, never tumble dry, no bleach, no iron.

Canvas and trucker care

Brush dry dirt, spot clean sweatband and front with mild soap, reshape while damp, air dry away from radiators. Do not wring the brim. Store on a shelf, not under bags.

Low-profile twill care

Clean stains locally, then air. A full wash flattens the hand-feel and can shrink the sweatband. Skip the machine every time. On The Code, wipe the printed monogram under the brim gently with a damp cloth.

Which cap suits whom

Oval: all three silhouettes. Round: structured baseball or trucker height. Square: curved brim to soften the jaw. Long: low-profile Culture or flatter brim without extra crown. Heart: soft low crowns that do not widen the forehead.

Quick picks by face shape

Oval: Baseball Cap Cream or The Code Stone. Round: Trucker Cap Cream or structured baseball. Square: curved-brim baseball or The Code. Long: Culture Two-Tone or Culture Washed Black 5-Panel. Heart: Culture low-profile first. Shape first, then colourway.

FAQ

How do I know my face shape?

Pull your hair back, stand at a mirror and trace the outline with soap. Compare length to width, then jaw and forehead. Oval is balanced; round is similar in both; square shows a strong jaw; long faces read taller than wide; heart is wider at the forehead.

Does a trucker cap suit a round face?

Often yes. The taller structured crown adds vertical line and balances a round face. Prefer a gently curved brim. Our Trucker Cap Cream has a canvas front with mesh and sits as a structured six-panel.

Are KRWN DISTRICT caps one size?

Yes. All six caps are One Size with an adjustable closure (a snap band, or a strap with brass slide buckle on The Culture) and fit roughly 54 to 60 cm. Set the band once for your head and hair volume; you do not need a fitted size chart.

Structured or unstructured — which is better for a small face?

Unstructured low-profile caps usually sit kinder on a smaller face, because a tall buckram front can look boxy. The Culture Two-Tone 6-Panel and The Culture Washed Black 5-Panel use soft washed twill with a low crown.

Can I curve a flat brim to suit my face?

Yes, carefully by hand over several days, not in one force bend. A curved brim frames rounder faces; a flatter brim adds horizontal line for longer faces. Stop when both sides look even.

Where do you ship, and can I return a cap?
